From Seed To Sandwich
The 2025 Seed to Sandwich project with the Orient Elementary School in Orient, WA was inspired by the UK based Real Bread Campaign's "Bake Your Lawn" program, which aims to educate children about the origins of bread and promote the benefits of making real, additive-free bread. The students grew their own wheat and experienced the entire journey of a wheat seed from soil to baking their own additive REAL bread. You can read about it here.

Community Bread Bakes
We have brought new as well as experienced bread bakers together to bake for our community members with food insecurities during COVID and up to the present times. We icollaborated with elementary school classes who baked for seniors, church groups and local community members who baked bread for asylum seekers and refugees during our Bread across Borders project.

Intergenerational Bread Therapy
On August 16, 2025, we proudly hosted our inaugural official bread (art) therapy event at the BreadHaus, our charming traditional workshop/community space located in the town of Kettle Falls, Washington. Bread Therapy was pioneered by Bulgarian anthropologist Dr. Nadezhada Savova, founder of the global Bread Houses Network as a means to break barriers across gender, age, ethnicity and religion through collective bread making and story-telling on a flour canvas.
