About the event
Wild West of Baking: Sourdough Class
Are you ready to embark on a doughy adventure that’s more thrilling than a tumbleweed chase? Join our **Sourdough Class** where you’ll learn the ancient craft of sourdough baking, and continue your trek with the famous 1847 Carl Griffith Oregon Trails Sourdough starter, a starter that’s been on more journeys than your great-grandma’s covered wagon! You are welcome to dress up in your best cowboy / pioneer outfit to help us celebrate sourdough history.
What You'll Learn and Take home:
The Science of Sourdough: Discover why this bread is the original gut friendlier, commercial yeast-free, and happiness-inducing food (just add butter!).
Maintaining your starter: If the pioneers could do it on the trek west, so can you!
Techniques to Tame Your Dough: Master the skills to knead, shape, and coax your sourdough into submission—no lasso required!
